Job Description

Bay Moorings Animal Hospital is a thriving, full-service veterinary hospital serving the St. Petersburg - Skyway Marina community with compassionate and comprehensive care. 

 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and provide exceptional patient care.

 

About the Role:

As an experienced Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in the smooth and efficient operation of our hospital. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including assisting veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and procedures; performing diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; administering medications; providing nursing care; and educating clients on pet health and wellness.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and procedures.

·         Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures.

·         Administer medications and treatments.

·         Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients.

·         Monitor patient vital signs and conditions.

·         Educate clients on pet health and wellness.

·         Maintain accurate patient records.

·         Ensure a clean and organized work environment.

·         Maintain and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.

·         Assist with other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

·         Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred, but not required.

·         Minimum of 4 years of experience in a veterinary clinic setting.

·         Strong knowledge of veterinary anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

·         Proficiency in performing common veterinary procedures, including phlebotomy, ECGs, and radiography.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

·         Ability to lift and move animals of varying sizes.

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Ability to work weekends.
