Job Description

 

We are seeking a compassionate and hardworking part-time kennel assistant to join our team. This role involves caring for animals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with daily operations in the kennel. Responsibilities:

·       Provide food and water to animals according to feeding schedule.

·       Clean and disinfect kennels, cages and common areas.

·       Walk, exercise and monitor well-being of animals.

·       Assist in bathing and basic grooming tasks.

·       Observe animals for signs of illness and distress.

·       Observe animals in daycare room at all times.

·       Assist with intake and release of pets.

·       Maintain laundry, dishes and other kennel supplies.

·       Deep clean kennels and common areas.

·       Provide compassionate care and attention to all animals.

 

Qualifications:

·       Previous experience in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or animal care setting is a plus but not required.

·       Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes and temperaments.

·       Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing and walking for extended periods.

·       Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

·       Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

·       Passion for animal welfare and a positive attitude.

 

Schedule:

Part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week, sometimes less. Schedule does include some weekend shifts.

 

Compensation:

13.00-13.50 per hour, based on experience.

 

Benefits: 

Eligible discounts for available after 90 days of employment. 

Medical/Vision/Dental Insurance: Not eligible for part-time employees.

Paid time-off: Part-time employees not eligible.

Holiday Pay: Hours worked paid at 2x.
