The Opportunity:
As a Hospital Manager, you will be an essential part of the hospital leadership team, collaborating closely with the Managing Veterinarian to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the hospital. Your role will drive revenue, manage costs, and cultivate a hospital culture focused on top-notch patient care and exceptional customer service.
You will oversee the planning and coordination of daily hospital operations while creating a supportive and cohesive team environment. Given the managerial responsibilities and the need for in-person interaction with clients and employees, regular on-site attendance is a fundamental requirement for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Full ownership of P&L, accountable for the hospital’s performance
- Collaborate with regional leadership to identify trends and forecast needs
- Manage accounts receivable
- Oversee hospital inventory and control facility and administrative costs
- Manage payroll for hospital staff
- Develop hospital schedules and manage labor costs
- Champion change and promote best practices
- Lead the team to enhance processes and workflows across client service, operations, and administrative functions
- Implement new technologies and initiatives to improve efficiency
- Establish and foster a positive hospital culture
- Track and maintain current licensures for all DVMs
- Provide feedback and navigate challenging conversations
- Demonstrate and reinforce exceptional client service
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in a managerial role, including customer service
- Experience in a hospital, retail, or service-based setting with increasing responsibility is a plus
