Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to animals. The Veterinary Technician will assist with clinical procedures, patient care, and client communication while maintaining a safe and efficient veterinary practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures

  • Prepare animals for surgery and monitor anesthesia and recovery

  • Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces, etc.)

  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian

  • Take and record patient vital signs and medical histories

  • Perform basic laboratory tests and operate medical equipment

  • Provide nursing care, wound care, and post-operative monitoring

  • Educate clients on animal care, medications, and post-treatment instructions

  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinic protocols

  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and surgical areas

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital preferred

  • Knowledge of animal handling, medical terminology, and laboratory procedures

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and restrain animals up to 50 pounds

  • Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment

Work Environment:

  • Veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting

  • Exposure to animals, medical equipment, and occasional biohazards
