Job Summary
The Pricing Analyst plays a critical role in supporting Ethos Veterinary Health’s enterprise pricing strategy across our nationwide network of specialty and emergency hospitals. Reporting to the Director of Pricing, this role is responsible for conducting detailed quantitative analysis, maintaining and enhancing pricing tools and datasets, supporting annual and mid-year price adjustments, and generating insights that improve access to care, financial performance, and operational consistency.
This role partners closely with the broader Strategy & Business Operations team, Finance, Procurement, Field Operations, Medical Leadership, hospital leadership, and IT / PIMS teams to drive data-informed pricing decisions and ensure consistent execution across hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy & Analysis:
- Conduct quantitative analyses to support pricing decisions across Emergency, Specialty, and Ancillary Services.
- Execute benchmarking analyses (internal & external), including price positioning analyses, CPI index tracking, and veterinary market insights.
- Model the financial and operational impact of price changes, promotions, discount structures, and value-based pricing initiatives.
- Support research and pricing for both existing and new services or novel procedures
Annual & Mid-Year Price Adjustment Program:
- Support the annual price planning cycle, including data preparation, analysis, and tool / workflow execution.
- Maintain and QA datasets for TTM volumes, revenue, vendor cost updates, and service fee logic.
- Partner with hospitals and Field Operations Leaders to resolve pricing discrepancies, ensure accurate implementation, and monitor financial and operational impact post-price adjustment
Pricing Tools, Reporting & Data Management:
- Maintain and enhance Ethos pricing tools
- Create repeatable dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to operational and medical leaders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
- Provide analytical support for strategic pricing projects
- Partner with PIMS/IT teams to ensure data accuracy, code integrity, and seamless implementation of pricing decisions into hospital systems.
- Participate in operational meetings (FOLs, Hospital Leadership Teams) to explain pricing rationale and data insights in clear, concise language.
Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance:
- Identify opportunities to improve pricing governance, QA processes, and measurement frameworks.
- Help develop best practices, job aids, and enterprise pricing standards to support scale.
- Contribute to post-implementation reviews and pilot evaluations (e.g., consult discount tests, access-to-care initiatives).
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, data analytics, consulting, or similar role.
- Experience in healthcare, veterinary, multi-site operations, or subscription-/service-based businesses preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas; macros a plus); SQL or data querying experience a strong plus.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
- Comfort working with large datasets, imperfect data, and multiple source systems.
- Experience with PIMS (e.g., ezyVet), medical billing codes, QuickBase, or Smartsheet is a plus.
Analytical & Business Skills:
- Analytical, critical thinker with strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to connect data insights to business realities — including clinic operations and client experiences
- Understanding of revenue, cost, and margin drivers in a service-based business
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex findings
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and hospital leadership
- Empathy for the client and patient experience, with sensitivity to the role pricing plays in veterinary care decisions
- Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000-$115,000. Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
