Bring pets and people together as the community champion of PetOne Veterinary in Tacoma.

About the Role

We’re looking for an energetic, community-driven Community Engagement Specialist to join Sumner Veterinary Hospital and help establish the PetOne Veterinary brand in Tacoma.

In this role, you’ll be embedded at Sumner Veterinary Hospital, building relationships, supporting the local community, and representing both the flagship hospital and nearby endorsed sites day-to-day. You’ll play a key part in introducing PetOne Veterinary to the community, bridging the trust clients already have with the exciting changes ahead.

If you thrive on change, love connecting with people, and are motivated by bringing a new brand to life in the community, this role was made for you.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Make real, visible impact. You’ll be at the forefront of community activation from neighborhood events to meaningful partnerships helping us turn awareness into affection.
  • Be a brand ambassador with heart. You’ll represent PetOne Veterinary’s welcoming, confident voice as you connect with pet parents, local businesses, rescue partners, and more.
  • Grow and shape local presence. This isn’t just “support work” – you’ll be a key driver of local community impact as we grow in Tacoma.

What You’ll Do:

Create buzz that matters

  • Plan and execute community events, pop-ups, and on-site activations for Sumner Veterinary Hospital and the endorsed locations
  • Be visible, genuine, and engaging meeting pet parents where they are and bringing them into our world

Build trust through community connection

  • Foster strong relationships with local businesses, rescues, schools, influencers, and community organizations
  • Serve as a knowledgeable, friendly presence to community partners during the brand transition

Strengthen ongoing client connection

  • Create opportunities for existing clients to stay engaged with the hospital through educational events, community partnerships, and local initiatives that deepen relationships and reinforce PetOne Veterinary’s trusted presence in the community

Bring stories to life

  • Partner with marketing and brand teams to ensure a smooth, thoughtful rollout of PetOne Veterinary
  • Support local social content with community-based storytelling that reflects both the hospital’s legacy and PetOne Veterinary’s voice: joyful, optimistic, compassionate, and credible

Track what matters

  • Capture insights from events, partnerships, and activations
  • Share insights to improve impact and deepen community connection

Who You Are:

  • Love for animals, especially pets
  • Comfortable navigating change and helping others feel confident through it
  • A natural connector – enthusiastic, personable, and unafraid to start a conversation
  • Excited to champion the PetOne Veterinary brand locally
  • Highly organized and a natural planner who can juggle events, partnerships, and details with ease
  • Resourceful, proactive, and energized in a fast-moving environment with a collaborative spirit
  • Curious and confident using metrics to shape approach, measure impact, and apply insights to strengthen future initiatives

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years in community engagement, events, partnerships, or brand activation (bonus if in retail, pet care, or lifestyle fields)
  • Experience representing a brand or business in a local community
  • Strong communication skills and relationship-building chops
  • A positive mindset and high energy, especially when the to-dos stack up
  • A genuine belief in PetOne Veterinary’s purpose: helping pets live their best lives, every day, at every stage.
Compensation: The minimum salary range is $80,168.40.
