Registered Veterinary Technician Needed!

Cole Park Veterinary Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician with a positive, up-beat attitude and genuine love for pets and the veterinary health profession.  We are a busy 4-doctor, AAHA accredited, small animal practice that focuses on traditional medicine as well as Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

The ideal candidate must be a dedicated, conscientious, self-motivated veterinary technician who provides high-quality medical care and exceptional customer service.  The candidate must have graduated from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program and have successfully passed the VTNE and holds a current Registration in the State of North Carolina (current licensure in other states accepted).

Veterinary Technician duties includes:

•Perform all patient treatments ordered by veterinarians including blood draws, placing IV catheters, taking radiographs, ICU care, performing lab testing, and giving injections and medications.

•Set up and maintain fluid pumps for IV fluid admisistration.

•Induce and monitor general anesthesia and assist with surgeries.

•Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs.

•Maintain all surgery and hospital equipment, clean and wrap packs for surgery and maintain controlled substance logs.

•Admit patients to the hospital getting accurate history and vital signs.

•Collect laboratory speciments (urine via cystocentesis or free catch, skin and ear cytology, feces, and skin scrapings) and preform testing as directed.

•Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
