VETERINARY TECHNICIAN (LVT or CVT) WANTED

Then you’ve come to the right place!  We are a multi-hospital practice group located in Downtown Manhattan that is looking to hire a licensed Veterinary Technician.  We believe in fear free methods, providing high quality care and medicine for general practice in preventative medicine, maintenance for acute and chronic diseases, surgery, dentistry, as well as some alternatives such as cold laser therapy, phovia and acupuncture.  Our practices work as a network with shared medical records and the capability of offering cryosurgery, some exotic care and a behavior specialist.  We also believe in taking care of different stages in a pet’s life and offer puppy socialization as well as pet loss support for our patients and clients.

Licensed Veterinary Technicians MUST have:

  • Great people skills
  • Great communication skills in person, on the phone and over e-mail (speak clearly and write legibly)

  • Good work ethic
  • Ability to educate clients

Technical Abilities MUST include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Venipuncture
  • Catheter Placement
  • Intubation
  • Administration of Medications PO, SQ, IM, IV
  • Accurate Calculations of Medications
  • Current Knowledge of Medications 
  • Ability to Capture and Position for Radiograph Views
  • Dental Prophylaxis, Probing and Charting (and dental digital radiographs a plus)
  • Proper Monitoring of patients under Anesthesia for HR, RR, BP, ECG, SpO2, CO2
  • Handling and Knowledge of Calculations for IV fluids
  • Use of Oxygen Cages
  • Proper Use of Laboratory Tools for internal and external testing, such as  PCV, BG, Snap Tests, PT/PTT, In-hospital CBC and Chemistries, Microscopic evaluations.
  • Proper Sterilization Methods for Contagious Diseases and Surgery

The base hourly range for this position is $26 to $33 based on experience, job related skills, relavant education, training and active licensure.
