Located just 45 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Sanibel Island, Best Friends Animal Hospital is looking for a passionate veterinarian to join our growing family!

Our team of doctors stays current with the latest medical treatments and technologies by regularly attending educational seminars. We pride ourselves on our state-of-the-art equipment, including digital whole-body and dental x-ray machines, cold laser therapy, ultrasound, and a surgical laser.

Our Facilities:

  • 6 veterinary technicians and assistants
  • Spacious facility with 5 exam rooms, a dedicated cat room, a comfort room, a treatment area, and a surgery suite
  • Separate wards for large and small dogs, plus a dedicated cat ward
  • Complete pharmacy with a comprehensive inventory
  • In-house ECGs with a specialist on call
  • Digital x-ray for quick, high-quality imaging
  • Surgical and therapeutic laser technology
  • Isoflurane anesthesia and comprehensive surgical monitoring
  • Ultrasonic dental equipment and digital dental x-ray capabilities
  • In-house lab for select blood chemistries, urinalysis, and more, with close ties to external full-service labs
  • No overnight care required
  • Alternating Saturdays and always closed on Sundays
  • Daily lunch break from 12 PM – 1 PM

Skills and Basic Qualifications:

  • Any experience level considered
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university 
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which the applicant is to be employed 
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics

Compensation: 

  • $110-150K base salary depending on experience
  • This position is eligible for production-based bonuses
  • Signing Bonus
