General Description:

This position may be a great fit for you if you like being physically active and are confident being around horses.

This weekend position at Abraham’s Equine Clinic is responsible for feeding and watering horses, cleaning stalls, assisting the on-call veterinarian with treatments, and keeping the barns and grounds in optimal condition. Members of our weekend team enjoy being around horses, have experience handling horses and boast that they get their workout done at the barn! 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Feed and water horses as specified.

·         Clean individual horse stalls.

·         Load hay into wagons for distribution.

·         Load/unload manure.

·         Hold horses for the on-call veterinarian

·         Adminsiter treatments under the guidance of the on-call veterinarian.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

·         Must have experience working with horses. Experience working on a farm or stables is preferred.

·         Ability to operate or the willingness to learn (skid steer, tractor and spreader.)

·         Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.

Typical Physical Demands:

·         Ability to clean 17-20 horse stalls each day.

·         Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds or more.

·         Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, bend, walk, or stand for long periods of time.

·         Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.

·         Ability to drive any type of vehicle without restrictions, and able to drive any type of machinery as needed.

Work Schedule:

This position typically works from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
