The Role

This position can be fully remote.  Some travel may be required.  There will be preference for those candidates in the Austin, TX area.

NVA is seeking a Data Specialist to support the Procurement Department in their strategic sourcing and category management initiatives.  Specifically, the Data Specialist will support Procurement on supporting data entry, report development, and administrative task management.


The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in transforming raw data sets to useable reports for large, multimillion dollar companies, with an interest in supporting that systemize and create reporting efficiencies. The Data Specialist must showcase advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications (particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and ticketing tools (Service Now) with experience in Oracle as a plus. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in defining and developing a foundational data analytics plan for an organization at the cutting edge of premier veterinary care!


Key Responsibilities

  • Support a diverse array of analytics requests
    • Possess business understanding needed to conduct analysis through collaboration with business experts, field partners, and other team members
    • Analyze large amounts of information to discover hospital and/or product trends and patterns
    • Conduct data cleaning, and data quality management. Maintain appropriate documentation
    • Keep project manager(s) and senior analyst(s) apprised of the progress and status of all projects
    • Plan work activities thoughtfully to ensure project and deliverable deadlines are met
    • Support ad-hoc and routine reporting
  • Serve in a core administrative function for the Procurement department
    • Monitor and triage a ticketing environment to ensure that all tickets are delegated to the proper individuals
    • Demonstrate initiative to resolve ad-hoc tickets with minimal supervision
    • Support general planning activities for the department, such as setting meetings for management, planning schedules for team members, assisting with expense reporting, and providing administrative support for large company functions involving suppliers.
  • Assist as a subject-matter expert on synthesizing analytics into professional presentations
    • Collect analytics requests from team members and build elegant, slide-ready visualizations
    • Leverage PowerPoint skills to develop coherent compositions that help distill complex analytics in simple terms

Skills and Specifications

·       Experience with and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams

  • Expertise with Oracle ERP and ticketing tools like Service Now is a plus
  • High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative solutions to challenging situations
  • Demonstrated experience with projects that require both attention to detail and an ability to deliver on deadline
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Marketing, Mathematics, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a data entry role or introductory data analytics position. Leveraging this experience in a veterinary organization or veterinary clinic is a plus.

Compensation
The compensation range for the position is $65,000-75,000 and is eligible for benefits.
