Murrysville Veterinary Associates is dedicated to excellence in the delivery of medical and surgical care to our patients while serving them and our clients with empathy and compassion.  We are always looking for ways to improve our practice and client experience, and we embrace innovation.  Our atmosphere is one of collaboration, teamwork, and respect; we believe that a good sense of humor and taking joy in our profession helps us get through challenges.   Our facility was constructed in 2017 and expanded 2 years ago to provide a comfortable, clean, and efficient workflow while utilizing state-of-the-art equipment in medical care, surgery, and dentistry, including digital radiography, ultrasound, laser, and a fully equipped digital dental suite.  We are AAHA certified, and our facility was designed to be AAHA compliant with fear-free principles in mind.  Our team strives to be welcoming to all, and we are supportive of the learning, growth, and well-being of all of our staff members.  
 
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.  
 
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Murrysville Veterinary Associates are offered to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.
